Autumn is a-coming in,
Loud sing the goose,
Changing leaf ends summer’s grief
And sends the hunters loose,
Sing o goose!
Fledglings follow after flock,
Bucks learn hunters’ ruse,
Apples red now give the nod,
Aspen golds among the spruce -
Sing o goose!
See them fly at end of day
in mighty vees, the noble goose,
harbinger of season’s change
honking herald now turned loose -
Sing o goose!
