Not a happy day for me.  Bleh.

It is depressingly common these days.

3rd generation in my family.

Oh, yuck. Just what you need right now, no? :-/

Yeah, true that. But better to have it treated and know than to let it be a silent destroyer...

Oh no! I'm sorry to hear that, hon! This hasn't been a very good year for you, has it?

Been a rough year. Poor body's getting rather stressed out...

So sorry to hear that! I was diagnosed close to 10 years ago, so I know how it feels like the end of the world, but if you take it seriously, you can live with it. A really good endocrinologist or diabetes educator can go a long way to relieve your fears while giving reasonable advice. Many, many hugs.

My mama had it too, so I am some familiar...but because she had it, I take it really seriously. I was actually expecting this someday. It runs in my family. But after everything I've been through lately, it could have waited until I get over something else first! LOL. (Got to laugh. I was kind of looking forward to year 55, but it seems that it's a year of road bumps and pains. Ah well).

Got the news this morning, will be going to the doc in an hour to get started on what I need to do. Thanks for the moral support...appreciate it!

What an unhappy coincidence: I just got the phone call from my doctor with my lab results--type 2 diabetes. So, believe me when I say I completely sympathize with you.

Hugs, woman. We'll manage it!

*looks at tootsie roll - pitches in trash*

Sorry to hear that. I suspect I'll be getting that news in the next couple of decades, given my family history.

I hear ya. It's hard to escape genetic destiny...

Good energy your way. You can handle this crapola, I'm just sorry you gotta.

I can. But I got the doc to put me back on Welbutrin while I was at it...too many depressing things....

Sorry to hear it :( My aunt was diagnosed at 65. Thankfully with a few changes to her diet she had it completely under control. As long as you're responsible about it, Type II Diabetes is a very manageable disease. I know this isn't great news, but you'll be okay. Take care of yourself!

i have seen an advanced screening of following movie/documentary and it has very eye opening and compelling arguments, studies and proofs. it will be released in theaters in may. please take a look at it when it comes out:

*hugs* there is a better way and there is hope.

OMG *hugs* This is just one thing after another for you. *snuggles* I'm so sorry to hear this; I hope you can get things figured and and well-managed!

Boo. That sucks. I'm sorry. :(

Apr. 27th, 2011 02:45 pm (UTC)
Sorry about that. At least knowing you will be able to control your condition.
Apr. 27th, 2011 11:20 pm (UTC)
Sorry to hear that. Both my grandparents had it. At least with recent improvements it is a lot easier to control now.

Damn...so sorry to hear that! I hope you have a good doctor with a good plan on how to manage it. Did they recommend a change of diet, insulin shots, or both? *HUGS* You will be okay, I have faith in that and in in you!
