Poem: Gray Winter's Day Message

Sun,
I miss you -
my son's hiding in his room
singing rap,
and the grayness
goes on forever.
Sunlight on the water,
I remember that,
the light and warmth,
I remember it better than
the cold hungry moments
that my son sings about,
urban realities
he never experienced.
Ah,  Sun,
I'd like to visit you again,
preferably in January,
maybe in Key West.
Call me?
