Poem: A Private Moment

Written for IYHed....definitely IK

A Private Moment

He pressed his hand against hers,
felt the way hers pressed against his,
so smooth over his hard palm,
so small –
he closed his hand over hers,
the white claw tips
standing like guardians
against all who might threaten.

Her free hand touched his cheek,
ran gently across the soft skin,
a finger brushing gently over his lips,
feather light –
his lips parted, kissing it as it moved –
then her fingers traced his jaw,
past the flat skin where others have ears
and he shivered at her touch
as her fingers slipped into his hair.

“Look at me,” he whispered,
and he lost himself
as her head tilted up
in the blue-gray storminess of her eyes,
and his hands, moving on their own,
drew her body,
warm and real and bare
against his own,
and his lips, forgetting how to speak,
plundered her mouth.

And as he pressed her to the floor,
covering her with his want
and his need, and his hardness,
and as she wrapped her legs around his thighs,
she smiled at him and whispered,
“Aren’t babysitters wonderful?”
and kissing him hard,
proceeded to demonstrate just why that was so.
