I tell you what's hard for a writer...

even one as given to succinctness and flash writing as me:

writing the copy for a 30 second video I'm doing for a local non-profit group as a pitch to another group that is going to pick several non-profits to make a donation to.  Now that's hard.  It'd been so easy if I had a whole minute.

Started at about 150 words.  I'm down to something like 70 words now, and it just fits into the time window, I think.  And I didn't even volunteer to do this - I got railroaded into it.

At least I don't have to do the video editing.

i have less trouble with stuff like editorials than with fiction. i've got a few editorials i have done when i was home schooling my children for the 'pensylvania home education network' newsletter that took me no time at all when i was asked, as opposed to my other writing (not that i've done very much compared to you).

they probably railroaded you because they knew you would do it. reliability can be inconvenient.

I hear you about fic vs. non-fic. It's just the last few years I got over my fic fear and began writing stories...

Oh, yeah, me and my hubby write the news releases for the local chapter and take pics, too...and we've had several of these small articles published in the national magazine (with our pictures)...so we're the word people...

I can relate to that. I once had a 30 seconds in which to be funny. That was the hardest thing I ever did. Of course, once I had it down, they changed their minds and gave us a full minute. aaahhhhh.
