The True Fan

OOC is blasphemy, canon is everything.

Once you fall in love with a movie, book or TV series, you are loyal like an old dog. You take fanfiction quite serious and use it as a substitute after the canon ran out.

You are probably a walking dictionary of your favourite fandom and you are picky about what you write and read. The closer to the "real thing" fanfiction is, the more you like it.

You rather explore a character in all depth, see new sides and learn more about them than creating new characters or mix up the situations they are in.

Funny about that creating new characters bit...since I have at least one fic out there, sad to say which may never get completed that has more original characters than there are canon...OCs don't intimidate me at all....but this is true in many ways.  But I do, I hope, let my characters grow....

I think you strive to make your IY feel true to post-manga life, basing it on the text and mature adulthood. So yes, you let them grow. You just don't get crazy-go-nuts too often. :)

I think maybe I'm not really a crazy-go-nuts type person? Of course, since most of my stories are slices of life that take maybe 5 or 10 minutes, it's kind of hard to go crazy-go-nuts in that time frame....LOL.

In 5 minutes, youkai Inuyasha can make a lot of mess, I'd argue ^_^

True, and he did in one of my stories...but in my story universe, there's not a split personality thingie between InuYasha's youkai/hanyou/human sides; instead it's a sliding continuum. He came out to protect his wife and child when he was on death's door...but the critter that brought him out got into some serious trouble.

See, I even let Youkai InuYasha grow up. Aren't I pathetic?

Sliding continuum. Makes me think naughty thoughts. (Well, ok, it didn't really but that was my subtle transition into pointing you toward the current prompt at Iyhed. Would love to see some post-canon grown-up youkai 'Yasha getting it on with his wifey. ^_^

Actually, I was thinking about Human Inu...when Youkai Inu comes out to play, there's usually another little young one that follows 9 months later...

By all means, I'd love to see your sweet hubby human Inu too :)

The Mindgamer

Everything is possible, nothing is ever really over.

Fanfiction is a creative outlet for you. You don't intentionally write it, it just happens. You find inspiration in several fandoms, but are not obsessed with only one.

You like to explore "what if" situations. What if this character had never made this very choice? What if this event had taken place sooner, never, elsewhere? What if these people had never met?

You are likely to write Alternative Universes, fan seasons or sequels and just follow your (sometimes pretty strange) plot bunnies.

I got the same result as well, which I find rather amusing considering my largest fic to date is an AU - and all my stuff for the Naruto fandom, for instance, are pairings that will never, ever happen in canon. Maybe because I refuse to change characterization to fit the situation but must do vice versa? Dunno, but regardless, I find it funny ^_^
