Poem: Sour Grapes

Not IK...maybe the return of poetry muse from her long vacation.  But she's in a mood....

Sour Grapes

I sit here
in my garden of abundance,
discontent,
choosing to eat the sour grapes,
knowing what I am doing;
and even though I feel childish,
for this hour,
I will relish the bite of their bitterness
before standing up,
dusting off,
and picking up my basket
to reach for a sweeter fruit.

Sometimes,
we just have to indulge.
