Poem: Sour Grapes

Not IK...maybe the return of poetry muse from her long vacation.  But she's in a mood....

Sour Grapes

I sit here
in my garden of abundance,
discontent,
choosing to eat the sour grapes,
knowing what I am doing;
and even though I feel childish,
for this hour,
I will relish the bite of their bitterness
before standing up,
dusting off,
and picking up my basket
to reach for a sweeter fruit.

Sometimes,
we just have to indulge.

I don't know why I am in a mood, but I am.

I can understand your triggers...You have much more excuse than me...but mine seem strange.

Ah well. At least I'm writing poetry again.

LOL, you think I have any more reason to feel this way than you do? I'm not so sure about that :P

I guess the important thing is to acknowledge we're being childish and petty and take steps to move beyond it.
