Rinne chapter 11 is up!

Off to go read...

Start of a new arc!  We learn something about Rinne's attitude to one of the girls in his class when it comes to offerings,  and see that cute little black cat doing stuff again....

Be sure to read the blog, too, for some details about humor that didn't quite come through cause of linguistics...

I love what the blog tells us about RT's humor that does not come through in translation.

I've really been enjoying checking out the blog. I learn something almost every time they post the Rinne entries...

I think there's a chance that the California bloggers missed a couple of musical jokes, because Doremi Utagawa is more than likely an homage to Misora Hibari, the most beloved enka singer in Japan. I did a little Google-fu, and discovered that 'misora hibari' means 'beautiful skylark; with all those references to Doremi's attractiveness and musical ability, that can't be a just a casual connection. Even her last name, Utagawa, or 'River Song', points to Ms. Hibari, because the late songstress' most famous piece was 'As The River Flows'.

Since skylarks are known for their melodious singing, definitely not 'yodelling', I suspect that Doremi's selective amnesia is hiding the fact that she wasn't as talented as she recalls!

Didja see the scoop on Freelance-Manga? Starks sez (via another otaku that he respects highly) that the OVA of the 'Black Tetsusaiga' or possibly even a new season of the anime will be released in the fall.

Yeah...I went over to inu-yasha.org...the person running that site has always had good info...I can't believe she'd post it if she didn't know something. Crossing fingers...

I'll bet it's a movie-length manga-ender that includes the 'Black Tetsusaiga' sequence shown at the anniversary art show last summer. I took a poke around at the English VA's wiki listings and no project with an IY connection is being hinted at, so I hope that we don't have to wait another year or two for the NAmerican release!

VIZ is releasing season 7 of the IY anime in the fall, and the unflipped IY manga starting next month. This certainly points to building excitement and interest in more IY products in the near future!
