Poem: When the Summer Was in Bloom

Not IK.  Not even sure where this came from.

When the Summer Was in Bloom

I sang a bright song
when the summer was in bloom
in your smiling eyes.
It hovers, a hungry ghost,
wailing now in winter storm.

The passage of time,
an ever-flowing river
washes us away.
The memory of your smile
cannot save me from its flood.

Do not forget me
as you watch the winter birds
flying to the south
across a leaden gray sky.
Their calls speak of loneliness.

Autumn moon will go,
and the chill wind will follow,
scattering red leaves.
Will change shred your memories
before the first snowflakes fall?
