Poem: Rainy Morning

I hear you, Wind,
as I lay here in the morning,
listening to you play
as you rattle the wind chimes.

Is it time
to face another day?
I crack open an eye –
My room is still too gray
for me to want to stir.
Must be rainy.

O Wind, sweet Wind,
I whisper
couldn’t you just blow it all away?

Laughing, the winds rattle the chimes again,
as if to say
no.
