Don't you love it when someone posts a comment to one of your fanfics, telling you how you misused some construction or other, and there are some errors, but their post is so cryptical and ungrammatical, you're not exactly sure what the heck they're talking about?
It is not cool to be ungrammatical when criticizing grammar.
I posted this in the comments in response:
Someone wrote a review that talked about grammar. Unfortunately, I couldn't understand what points were being made because it was rather ungrammatical. Accidently hit the delete review button. If you would like to repost, perhaps with examples, I might be able to figure out what you are referring to. I'm well aware that not every chapter is perfectly error free, which is one of the reasons you will find me doing edits. And yes, Joben appears as a character in the original version of After the End, but he's not the same person in this story. So did Tameo, Hisa, and Hana. But they are my characters, so why not? I am also a retired English professor, so perhaps all you need to point out is where there errors are, instead of trying to explain to me why the errors are bad. Thank you! --Knittingknots
It might have been a little mean to delete and post, but it felt good. LOL At least I didn't call out the user by name.
