Poem: The Nightwatch

The Nightwatch

The full moon rising,
so large, over the mountains,
tinged with black cloud haze
unseen until they shadow
moonlight piercing the dark night.

Hiding in shadow,
he sits and feels it calling,
touching his darkness,
the throbbing of his youki
answering an ancient call.

He sits and watches,
breathing in the midnight air,
One white ear twitches,
Where he sits, wrapped in dark leaves
Alert for any stray sound.

His tree gently sways
with the kiss of midnight wind
as the moon climbs up
whitely singing to his blood
as it moves toward zenith.

Below him, they sleep,
the people fate has chosen
to put in his hands,
claw tipped, and not always clean,
and for them he keeps the watch.

In silver and red,
Inugami in the tree,
voicelessly baying,
his youki sings in the night
how he guards them with his life.

Meme Ganked from Namiyo11

Everyone has things they blog about. Everyone has things they don't blog about. Challenge me out of my comfort zone by telling me something I don't blog about, but you'd like to hear about, and I'll write a post about it. Ask for anything: latest movie watched, last book read, political leanings, thoughts on lima beans, favorite type of underwear, graphic techniques, etc.

Turn your back for five minutes and you get a bunch of freaky posts on your friend's page that you feel compelled to try. *snort*

Youkai Gankage!

(surprise, surprise! LOL - and I didn't try to rig the results either...lawsie, but I am a chaotic little bugger...)

Your Score: Kitsune

You scored 16 in Malice and 27 in Chaos!

You are the Kitsune, or "Fox demon," the ultimate doer of mischief. Kitsune belong to a class of demons known as "Henge," or animal shape-shifters, along with the Tanuki, or badger-demon. They are uncanny creatures who are notorious as much for their malevolence as for their wild and unpredictable behavior; a fox demon may help a human, only to betray him in deepest consequence at a later date. Kitsune are known to frequently possess women or pose as humans, causing chaos and catastrophe where ever they go. They are mischievous creatures who take great pleasure in playing terrible tricks on unsuspecting mortals; however, this behavior indicates that they are more perversely playful and apathetic to human suffering than genuinely evil and desirous of harm.

hmmmmmm. lets see here, what would i want to hear kk talk about? how 'bout something Futuramaish, just cause i'm a huge dork like that. *grins*

Unbeknownst to us regular mortals deep in the research labs, the brain (or at least what passes for a brain) of Homer Simpson was duplicated into electromagnetic circuits and fed into a not so gigantic flash memory card.  Later, the card would be exposed to an unknown snarky form of radiation that increased its sarcasm quotient tenfold and reduced its morality quotient fifty-fold.

Many years in the future, a technician, hung over after a particularly wild bachelor's party for his immediate superior who was celebrating his new bachelorhood after getting rid of his last roomie, knocked over a jar of surplus memory cards to be used in the robot he was assembling.  Putting in the damaged flash chip, the techie turned on the device.  Suddenly there was a flash of smoke and a crackle of energy that knocked the techie on his keester.

The robot sat up.  "So, you got something to say to me?"

The technician sat up, rubbed his aching head and mourning the fact of his hangover.  "Yeah,  I do.  Your name is Bender.  Next!"

getting to know you...
Blog on your immediate family, a few high school memories, and how you first got into Inuyasha.

My immediate family consists of my hubby and I, two golden retrievers and a mixed blood black terrier who has some scottie in her.  The dogs are old, the youngest being 11.  Hubby is retired from the Forest Service, but still does wildland fire work as a public information officer during the height of the fire season.  We share a passion for history, making things, reenacting.  Funny thing is, he's part Japanese, but only is really interested in US history.

I was part of the graduating class of 1973...that was a different world than today is.  I was a member of a very small ecology club during the first Earth day.  We could smoke cigarettes on campus.  In tenth grade I discovered cutting school, and the only reason I got to go into 11th grade is that I got so sick the last two months of school with a bad case of mono that they passed me.

It's amazing that I discovered InuYasha.  I had basically given up watching TV back about 1999.  But last year, hubby spent 3 weeks at the wild fires in Georgia, and I would get up early to give him a call.  While I was waiting to talk with him, I turned on the TV (yes, I have cable, even though it's mostly wasted money) and watch CN, which was still in Adult Swim at that time.  I noticed there was this interesting show about this guy with dog ears and a woman with these floating eel looking things...and a giant cat.  I actually started paying attention about the time Kagome heals Kikyou.  I got hooked fast.  I discovered at that time there was a lot of it on Youtube, and caught up there, and then discovered Media Miner and so on and so forth.  This would have been in May, last year.  I started buying the manga.  Then on June 15, I posted my first piece of fanfic, a poem, on DA.  And here I am today.

Just luck, I guess.

Okay, I'll bite. I was going to ask you what kind of underwear was your favorite ... LOL ... but let's go with last movie watch, shall we?

You'd have gotten a better response with the underwear question...LOL.  Last movie I saw at a theater was Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, and that's been a long time ago.  LOL.  I liked it alot, although I know it got panned.  What can I say?  I like cheesy movies...
