Writer's Block: R.E.A.D. in America Day

In celebration of R.E.A.D. in America Day, tell us about what you're reading. How is reading important to you? What would you recommend to others?

I am a compulsive reader and researcher so I'd say reading's incredibly important for me.

What am I reading? The Watchmen by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons. Beautiful dark story in graphic novel format.

Everyday Things in PreModern Japan by Susan B. Hanley

Japan's Medieval Population by William Wayne Farris

With frequent excursions into
Kawanakajima 1553-64 by Stephen Turnbull
Japanese Tales by Royall Tyler
Chanting from the Heart by Thich Nhat Hanh
Useful Plants of Japan: Described and Illustrated (1895) by the Agricultural Society of Japan

and several other books floating about.
