Now this is interesting...

Something unusual for  writing reference:  Nasa has a chart of moon phases for the 16th century online.

Don't know if anybody but me ever wants to play around with dates for Inu's new moons, but if you do, you might find it handy.

Odd thing, but when you're a nut like me, it's cool.

that's pretty neat - I imagine writers of historical fiction might find it useful, too.

I remember one of IY fan-writers playing with that, think was in "Sloppy Second" where it was informed that, while it was new moon in Feudal Japan, it was not like that nowadays. She played with it in the story, about IY avoiding the new moon in Feudal Japan by coming to the future. :D

now i never thought to look at nasa...

i remember that i was playing with moon phases for some reason, by now i can't remember why, but that is very cool.

I just plugged in lunar phases 1557 (1557 was the year I was interested in) and voila...I found 6 millenia of moon phases at Nasa...with eclipses indicated, even!
