Oh what fun!

Sept. 27 I'm gonna put on my mother goose clothes (as I call my 18th century gear), get out my copper kettles and wash basins, and an arcane assortment of plant parts, washing soda, vinegar and other things, and will do a demo of natural dyeing at a local Boise event called "Museum Comes to Life." 

One of the fun things I light to do is mix different mordants, (chemicals that effect the dying process) and show how many colors you can get from one type of dyestuff.  It can be quite surprising.

Haven't done this in a long time.  I'm looking forward to this.  Now I'm going to see if I can find some naturally dyed yarn I did once upon a time to have examples of stuff, and create a board to show the different  plants and what colors they can give you.....
