Poem: Fire Roses

(I evidently have fire season on the brain)

Drifting in the smoke
sparks, like fireflies, land unseen.
Will they find a place
crackling dry, to rest their heads
where they can bloom into flame?

(this sort of describes how fires in some fuels spread...they throw up lots of sparks which get caught by the wind and come down in fuels that burn.  Some fuels like Spruce and  Jack Pine and Eucalyptus  can really throw the sparks.)
