Hot Coffee Blues

I've got an empty cup this morning, I got the coffee blues today,

My baby left and took the grinder, can't make no coffee here today.

Hot coffee in the morning, hot coffee in the afternoon,
Hot coffee in the morning, hot coffee in the afternoon,
Don't forget to leave some sugar so I can use my coffee spoon.

Some people like that French Roast, some  want Kenyan AA

Some people just buy Folger's, don't want to grind no beans today.

Some folks get a percolator, some  drip that coffee strong,

If it tastes the way you want it, you know that you did not do wrong.

Do you drink it dark as midnight, or would you rather have au lait,

It don't really even matter long as you think it's ok.

I used to drink coffee twice a day. Only two cups.

The cups, however, where these huge things that look like village-relief, dole measurements. Each cup enough for four to six people. And took 3/4 of the pot to fill.

Only 2 cups a day, mind you.
Now I'm addicted to chai latte's, but I make my own spice.

I'd still have a cuppa java. :)

Lurve it.
For I know...oh, yesss. I know.

I sometimes regret not upgrading to and edit function, if only for the blatant spelling errors and such.

Then I remember it's not really that important.

Still, I meant to say were or are, not where.

I was just waiting for you to show up! LOL. I knew how much you would appreciate it...

Coffee is important in my life. My mom started letting me drink coffee when I was 7...I grew up not far from a Folger's plant. The smell of them processing coffee is a childhood memory. Me and my dad bonded during my adolescence as I made us coffee...and we would drink it and talk about everything in the world.

When I left my last job to run off and get married, they did a going away party joke about how strong I made the coffee.

Now being an old eccentric lady, I buy dark roast coffee beans, grind each pot fresh, make it strong, and fight my hubby to give me a fair share of the pot. LOL.

Life around those little black beans...

I've brought my daughter over to the dark side...but the hubby and the son don't like it. 'Course I make dragons breath coffee (my sister's name for it), but unfortunately at this time o' night it's gotta be unleaded.

That coffee pot is mine, all mine in the morning, though I'm learning to share with my child. The things we do for our kids!

LOL. I don't drink coffee to wake up (I'm one of God's condemned to wake up fully alert, which means I can almost never go back to sleep once I'm up), but I do use it to function. Ah the joys of caffination!

My grandmother though couldn't even speak until she had her second cup. It was a family joke.

BTW...Folgers? FOLGERS?????!!!!

Bleah. Give me the beans in an airtight container in the freezer. Folgers is banned from my house.

I don't drink it. I just grew up smelling it. It conditioned me to the knowledge that coffee was home. ;)

Normally, you only get French Roast (my hubby's poison of choice), Kenyan AA or Sumatran over here.

Coffee snob in my old age.
