Ganked from da Grrrl....

A writer's questionaire meme? You knew I had to do it....

What's the last thing you wrote?
Part of a chapter for After the End.

Was it any good?
I'm actually very pleased with it...dark and horror-story like

What's the first thing you ever wrote that you still have?
A poem

Write poetry?

Angsty poetry?
From time to time. Snarky stuff too. And fluff.

Most fun character you ever wrote?
Pink, cause she can do anything.

Most annoying character you ever wrote?
Pink, cause she can do anything.

Best plot you ever wrote?
Not sure.

Coolest plot twist you ever wrote?
Coolest twist I ever did was probably either in the Appointment or Shiver, Woman, Shiver. Nobody expected either.

How often do you get writer's block?
From time to time. I get where I just can't make myself sit down and write.

How do you fix it?
Counts what causes it. Exhaustion? Wait it out. Nothing to say? Look for something that sparks the need. Read fics that help me get into the mood. Find a new purpose.

Do you type or write by hand?
Computer is the only way to go with hands like mine!

Do you save everything you write?
Not the silly on the spot snarks, usually, but most everything that's got a real value to me. And not the outtakes, either.

Do you ever go back to an old idea long after you abandoned it?
Sometimes. I really ought to dig out that cyberpunk story I was working on in the 80s....

What's your favourite thing that you've written?
Hmm...Toss up between Shiver, Woman, Shiver, chapter 6 of ATE, or a long involved poetry series that's under a totally different name.

What's everyone else's favourite thing that you've written?
Hmmm... don't know for sure. Maybe one of my knitting books.

Do you ever show people your work?
Well, for sure.

Who's your favourite constructive critic?
not sure. I don't get a lot of feedback that way.

Did you ever write a novel?
3 or 4 incomplete ones...EIMH, though is probably the longest, but it too is not yet done. Still not much past a novella

Have you ever written fantasy, sci-fi, or horror?
Well duh! what else is there. Maybe police procedural or mystery in the future...

Ever written romance or teen angsty drama?
Some. Not my favorite genre, believe it or not.

What's one genre you have never written, and probably never will?
Sports based stories.

How many writing projects are you working on right now?
4 or 5

Do you want to write for a living?
Who knows?

Have you ever written something for a magazine or newspaper?
Yep. Even used to do a weekly newsletter.

Have you ever won an award for your writing?

Ever written something in script or play format?

What is your favourite word?
Onomatopoeia, because I like how it sounds.

Do you ever write based on yourself?
Only tech stuff related to knititng.

Which of your characters most resembles you?
None that I know of.

Where do you get ideas for your characters?
A mix of having read a zillion stories, lots of myth and fairy tale, life experience, news, and weird thoughts.

Do you prefer happy endings, sad endings, or cliff-hangers?
Oh, I use cliffies, but for the final endings, I like them to resolve as the story demands it, but for the most part, they seem happy.

Have you ever written anything based on an artwork you've seen?
Yes, but not much.

Are you concerned with spelling and grammar as you write?
I worry about pulling a William Faulkner and writing a sentence that can go on for more than a page....Spell and grammar checks help the final cleanup.

Ever write something entirely in chatspeak?

Does music help you write?
Absolutely. I have my own special playlist for writing to.

Are people surprised and confused when they find out you write well?
I really don't think so.

Quote something you've written.

Something in him stirs, then, at those moments,
and he pauses,
thinking briefly at the might have beens
that were not,
that could not be,
that did not happen,
and knows the touch of regret,
and like the wind,
sometimes, he sighs.

(from Sometimes the Wind)

Spend all of today reading Inusaga's Full Circle and laying back. Both sons actually called me to wish me happy Mother's Day. Second year in a row!
