How come?

How come when I'm trying to think up the perfect pithy ending for a oneshot, when I need lots of quiet, people have to start making phonecalls and other noise around me?  Never fails...

when the kids were little they wanted nothing to do with me until my attention was elsewhere --now the cat and the husband do the same thing. the cat will go as far as jump on the desk and lay down on whatever i'm reading or sprawl on the keyboard

I am the same way, especially with my brothers. Whenever I hear someone eating, my ear strains to hear them and it bugs me so much. Plus, what's with talking outside the door that is always closed. Don't they understand that if the door is closed, that means that they can't talk to me?

Oh well, it happens. :D Have fun!

*giggles*

I put a deadbolt on my office door, removing the door handle altogether. I had thought that having no door handle would make it impossible for everyone to barge right on in to interrupt my peace and quiet...

Well, now they just stand on the other side of the door, yelling my name. I think it only made them louder and more determined to interrupt my every attempt at 'me time'.

Sheesh- sometimes I think I'd be better off isolating myself in the garage, but sadly, they'd just find me there, too.

Maybe it's time to build a soundproof room?
